- Integrated Modules Reflection -
Introduction
I am Aw Jin Xuan, a year 2 student in Ngee Ann Polytechnic who is pursuing a diploma in psychology studies. During my 2.1 semester, I participated in a Service-Learning project, which integrated 5 modules of my diploma.
My group worked with children from Admiralty Student Care Centre. As we identified them to have a risk of depression, our group focused on the Social and Emotional Learning domain of relationship management. After much research and planning, our activities center around the theme of maintaining friendships.
As such, our programme name is ‘Jalan Sesame’ -- a local version of Sesame Street where friends meet and have fun! During the implementation, the children (and us) definitely had much fun and built new relationships.
In this website, I will present to you my reflections. I will evaluate the effectiveness of our programme thus far, and reflect upon my Service-Learning experience wholeheartedly.
